School Wishes
Building an online community of support for your school!
We’re all familiar with traditional “wish lists” typically created at the beginning of the school year to help get needed supplies and materials for our classrooms. Now there’s a better way to build an online community of dedicated parents, local businesses and other supportive donors who will work together to monitor and fulfill your specific classroom needs throughout the school year.
Your school may qualify to receive a free School Wishes website where your teachers can easily post wishes for classroom materials in one central location. Parents and other community members can monitor a specific classroom by joining a teacher’s mailing list to receive email notifications when new wishes are posted. Donors “grant a wish” by pledging to deliver the requested item(s) to your school.
Your School Wishes website also provides a way for people in your community to offer your teachers items they no longer need (that aren’t already on your teachers’ wish lists). Potential donors simply submit a description of the items they would like to offer and your teachers claim them through a password-protected “Teachers Only” area of the website. This is a great way for businesses to funnel their outdated inventory and supplies to your school, or for parents to offer your teachers unneeded treasures found while cleaning out their closets.
School Wishes is free to qualifying schools, is easy to use, and is a great way for schools to reach out to their local communities for in-kind (noncash) donations. Need more information about How School Wishes Works?
