    Answers to Donor's Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) are provided below. If you have questions that are not addressed here, please contact CHRISTIE HALL-VOLPENHEIN.

    Protecting Donor Privacy (privacy statement)

    How are requested items delivered to the teacher? (top of page)
    It will typically be the Donor’s responsibility to deliver donated items to the teacher. Every Wish Request includes specific delivery information for the item. After pledging to Grant A Wish, you will receive a packing slip that should be included when the item is delivered to ensure that the appropriate teacher receives the items. Online purchases may be shipped directly to the school. Please make sure that the teacher's name appears on all shipments.

    Is my donation tax-deductible? (top of page)
    Yes, donations to a school or school system are typically tax-deductible. We recommend that you consult your tax advisor to verify that your donation will be tax-deductible.

    Will I receive a receipt for tax purposes? (top of page)
    Yes, you will be provided with a printable, online receipt after the donated item(s) have been received. The receipt will include a description of the item(s) you have donated, it will be up to you to value the donation for tax purposes. To access a copy of your receipt, simply login to School Wishes using the User Login box located on the homepage.

    I delivered my donation but it still shows up under “Your Pledges (Educator has not received)” on My Donations page and the receipt link is not available? (top of page)
    The teacher who received your donation has not recorded your donation as 'received' within the School Wishes system. You may want to send an email message to the teacher to remind him/her to update the system. The My Donations page provides a link to email the teacher.

    Where can I find a complete listing of all of my pledged and donated items? (top of page)
    Simply login to School Wishes using the User Login box on the homepage. The 'My Donations' page provides the following information:

    • A complete listing of all of your pledged and donated items
    • Donation receipts
    • Teacher email access
    • Your contact information (please update, as needed)

    Why don’t I see my child’s school or teacher listed? (top of page)
    Only schools or teachers who have registered to use School Wishes will appear on the website.

    How do I contact a teacher after I have pledged to “Grant a Wish”? (top of page)
    Teachers are automatically notified when you pledge to Grant a Wish. To protect the privacy of our teachers, the School Wishes website does not display teachers’ email addresses. If you need to contact a teacher after pledging to Grant a Wish, simply login to School Wishes using the User Login box located on the homepage. The “My Donations” page lists all of the items that you have pledged to deliver and provides a link to email the teacher who has requested the item(s).

    How can I modify my contact information? (top of page)
    Login and access your 'My Donations' page. Click the Edit button (Edit button) located in the Donor Profile box to modify your contact information and preferences.

    Can I receive email notifications when Wish Requests for a particular school, teacher or category are posted to the School Wishes website? (top of page)

    Can I donate anonymously? (top of page)
    Yes, Donors who wish to remain anonymous may choose to do so in their Donor Profile. Login and access your 'My Donations' page, then click the 'Edit' button (Edit button) located in the Donor Profile box and set your Donor preferences. Names of anonymous donors will not appear on the School Wishes website and educators will not know your identity unless you choose to reveal it to them. To further protect Donor privacy, all email correspondence will be sent through forms that mask donor email addresses from the recipient.

    Will my email address or contact information be displayed on the School Wishes website? (top of page)
    No, to protect the privacy of our Donors, your email address and contact information are NEVER displayed on the School Wishes website. Also see: Can I donate anonymously?

    When teachers send me a “Thank You” email message, do they have access to my email address? (top of page)
    No, to protect the privacy of our Donors, teachers send all correspondence to you (including “Thank You” email messages) through a form that masks your email address.

    Can I choose NOT to receive future requests for support? (top of page)
    Yes, when registering to “Grant a Wish” you will be asked if we can contact you by email, telephone or U.S. mail. Simply check the “no” box for all three, and you will not be contacted in the future. Donors may also modify their contact settings by logging into School Wishes using the User Login box located on the homepage.
